Dochula Tshechu Festival
Overview
High-Altitude Celebration at Dochula Pass
Dochula Tshechu (Druk Wangyel Tshechu) is held at scenic Dochula Pass, surrounded by the 108 Druk Wangyel chortens and sweeping views of the Himalayas. Unlike other festivals, it was created as a tribute to Bhutan’s Fourth King and the Royal Bhutan Army, blending traditional cham dances with unique warrior performances and modern history. With crisp mountain air, fluttering prayer flags, and panoramic peaks as a backdrop, Dochula Tshechu feels both solemn and uplifting—a powerful reminder of Bhutan’s gratitude, resilience, and national pride.
